Fast Five

You would think that after 4 movies that by the time number 5 rolls around no original cast would be left and the writers would be out of fresh ideas to make a good movie, fortunately for us we are wrong!
Fast Five stands out as one of the best in the series especially when compared to 3 and 4. The original cast are back Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Tyrese with new addition of Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.

The action scenes are quite inense and while the CG does falter at times showing a clunky and poorly edited effort at times, the crash scenes are that unbelievable it just somehow works. In particular Diesel and Walker driving a car over a cliff, jumping out the back of it and plunging into the water...and surviving, two cars pulling a unbreakable safe down the main street of Rio. It all clunks together awkwardly but if you switch your brain off you will enjoy it for what it is.

Acting wise like the other 4 movies there aren't any stand out performances except for the copius amounts of sweat that drip off The Rock anytime he is close to anyone which is probably meant to say something about his character but it just comes off creepy and weird causing a comedic effect. Diesel and Walker are the same mediocre performances, Gibson and Ludacris have the zingers which will entertain the simpletons watching.

Overall it's a turn your brain off, sit back and enjoy the ride, definitely worth checking out in the Titan XC Cinema at Charlestown (We have never seen it so full!!)
